Elder BoardThe Elder Board is responsible for the spiritual direction of the Church. In this function they review and oversee all of the education and worship programs, interview and select people for Baptism and membership, provide counsel for people in need and are responsible to see that the physical needs of the Congregation are met. The office of Elder is based on several scripture passages but principally on I Timothy 3:1-7, and I Peter 5:1-11. The office of Elder is a longstanding one being mentioned in Ephesus during Paul’s third missionary journey (Acts 20:17-19). Elder FundThe Board maintains an Elder Fund which is used to meet the needs of those people in the Congregation who have physical needs which can be alleviated through financial means. This fund is used to provide for food for shut-ins during the Holidays, to assist in Counseling for those in need, to assist the Church's young people on summer Missions trips and the like. Administration of these funds is in conjunction with the Deacon Board Student Memorial FundThe Board also maintains a Student Memorial Fund which is available to those students who are intending to go into full time Christian service.
